The South Pasadena Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Palisades 63-41. Given South Pasadena's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Palisades is ranked 151st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kayla Boozer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 27 rebounds. Boozer is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Dylan Tse was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds.
South Pasadena's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points per game. As for Palisades, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pasadena won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chaminade at 9:00 a.m. on January 6th. Palisades will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Los Angeles CES at 4:30 p.m. on January 10th.
