The Hempfield Black Knights won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They suffered a tough 53-28 defeat at the hands of Central Dauphin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hempfield has scored all season.
Alexis Ferguson was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with four steals and two blocks for Central Dauphin. Ferguson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lauren Cavoli was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Hempfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Central Dauphin, their win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Hempfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Dauphin will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cumberland Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
