There's no place like home for Monroe Area, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the East Hall Vikings a 12-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Purple Hurricanes have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Monroe Area's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for East Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Monroe Area will face off against Morgan County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for East Hall, they will square off against Towns County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
