There's no place like home for the Hoover Cardinals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 victory over La Jolla. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hoover also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Myesha Frank, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewel Parker, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, La Jolla still got an impressive performance from Elena Farrar, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farrar has scored all season. Olivia Snider was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight steals.
Hoover's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for La Jolla, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Sundevils at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Allowing an average of 50.2 points per game, Mt. Carmel has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. As for La Jolla, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Colts at 6:15 p.m. Crawford is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
