The North Tahoe Lakers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against Oasis Academy by a score of 47-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Tahoe also won the last time the pair played last Saturday.
Gavin Green was his usual excellent self, scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was Anders Koijan, who scored eight points.
Despite the defeat, Oasis Academy had strong showings from Matthew Bird, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds, and Adams Hunter, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Kayden White was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
North Tahoe is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. As for Oasis Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.
North Tahoe will head out on the road to square off against West Wendover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Wendover knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully North Tahoe likes a good challenge. As for Oasis Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Sierra Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Sierra Lutheran is ranked 102nd, while Oasis Academy is ranked 94th).
