This season hasn't been kind to Coventry Christian, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell 41-34 to Quakertown Christian on Monday. Coventry Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Quakertown Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2016.
Despite the loss, Coventry Christian still got an impressive performance from Caitlin Cianci, who scored 24 points along with four steals and three blocks. The match was Cianci's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anika Wagner, who scored two points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds.
Coventry Christian bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Quakertown Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coventry Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Linville Hill at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Linville Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coventry Christian in Pennsylvania (Linville Hill is ranked 51st, while Coventry Christian is ranked 474th). Quakertown Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Upper Bucks Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
