The Amherst Central Tigers were the 57-38 winner over the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Amherst Central took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marauders on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Amherst Central has scored all season.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Kaufman out in front who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Peyton Brock was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals and two blocks.
Amherst Central are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amherst Central will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Cardinal O'Hara focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
