Meanwhile, Santana came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Braves.
Christian Levesque looked comfortable as he struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Santana got a massive performance out of Greg Ryan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Ryan has hit this season. Joseph Dibble was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Santana always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Mount Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Santana, their record is now 9-10.
Santana's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mount Miguel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Santana, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Mount Miguel's hitters?
