Northern Cambria is 0-3 against Blacklick Valley since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Northern Cambria Colts will look to defend their home court against the Blacklick Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Northern Cambria will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 536th, while Blacklick Valley is ranked 192nd).
Last Wednesday, Northern Cambria was beaten by Marion Center 66-22.
Meanwhile, Blacklick Valley can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Shade 61-25 at home. 61 seems to be a good number for Blacklick Valley as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Blacklick Valley relied on the efforts of Kaydence Killinger, who scored ten points along with six steals, and Kristin Szymusiak, who scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Szymusiak is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josie Nedrich, who scored six points along with three steals.
Northern Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Blacklick Valley, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Northern Cambria was taken down by Blacklick Valley 67-36 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northern Cambria was down 43-19.
