The home team had won the previous two meetings between Inderkum and Bella Vista, and Inderkum kept the tradition alive. Inderkum's pitchers stepped up to hand Bella Vista a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
Harrison Manning tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He also allowed seven hits, marking his first of the season.
On the hitting side, Inderkum saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JJ Cole, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Woodcreek pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Inderkum, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Woodcreek has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Inderkum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Woodcreek couldn't quite get it done against Inderkum in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can Woodcreek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
