After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Foothill, the Kennedy Thunderbirds were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over McFarland. For Kennedy, this counts as revenge for the 61-37 loss McFarland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Kayleen Maes was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kennedy's points. Imaree Curry was another key contributor, dropping a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists.
Kennedy's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 8-9. As for McFarland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will face off against Shafter at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McFarland, they will head out on the road to face off against Strathmore at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
