Islands' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Groves, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Islands took their win against Groves in their previous meeting back in February of 2020 by a conclusive 6-1. In that contest, Islands amassed a halftime lead of 3-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
