If the Fall River Bulldogs were feeling good off their 70-27 takedown of the Mt. Shasta Bears last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fall River took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity. Fall River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Trinity apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Fall River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darcie Range, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Range has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Cassity, who scored 19 points.
Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Albiez out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kloe Kist was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Fall River's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-10. As for Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.
Fall River will be playing at home against Modoc at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Modoc has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Trinity, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Etna at 7:00 p.m. Etna is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Trinity will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
