Baseball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy Wins Going Away Against Georgia Military College

Mount de Sales Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Georgia Military College Bulldogs 9-1. That's more bragging rights for the Cavaliers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Levi Siebenmorgan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Layne Defore and Holden Lane did most of the damage at the plate: Defore scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Lane scored a run while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Lane has posted since back in February of 2024. Amire Vamper was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Mount de Sales Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Georgia Military College, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount de Sales Academy will square off against Crawford County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Georgia Military College, they will take on Jasper County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
