The Regis Jesuit Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Chaparral Wolverines at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Regis Jesuit is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Regis Jesuit couldn't beat Rock Canyon on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Raiders fell 15-10 to the Jaguars.
Alex Tavlarides was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Tavlarides was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Alexis Colvin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Anna Najmulski was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chaparral unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 13-1 to Arvada West.
Chaparral saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Weber, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.
Regis Jesuit's record is now 4-10. As for Chaparral, their record now sits at 9-8.
Regis Jesuit's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Chaparral, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Regis Jesuit continue to outrun the ball?
Regis Jesuit suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Chaparral in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
