Football Recap: Boyd Starts Season with Victory Against Howe

Boyd had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-6 victory over the Howe Bulldogs. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-6.

Hunter Etter had an outrageously good game as he picked up 79 receiving yards and two scores. His longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards.

Despite the loss, Howe had strong showings from Deacon Bender, who rushed for 90 yards, and Rylan Strong, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one TD. Bender also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and snagged an interception.

Coming up, Boyd will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Jacksboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Howe, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Bonham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
