Whitney Young hasn't had much luck against Lane Tech recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dolphins will host the Champions at 4:30 p.m. Whitney Young is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Whitney Young's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Lincoln Park 9-0. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Kingsley Evans and Isaac Stoelinga were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Evans tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Head has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Whitney Young hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lane Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Whitney Young came up short against Lane Tech in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 14-10. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
