On Thursday, Sylmar beat Lakeview Charter 45-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sylmar.
Among those leading the charge was Vivianna Alvarado, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Isabella Gonzalez, who scored 9 points.
Alani Kyles and Liliana Word certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Kyles scored 20 points, while Word scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds. The matchup was Kyles' third in a row with at least ten points.
Sylmar's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lakeview Charter, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylmar will square off against South Gate at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Valor Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Valor Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
