The North Star Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 37-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Meyersdale. North Star was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Meyersdale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maci Moore, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Hainsworth, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
North Star dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.8 points per game. As for Meyersdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-13.
