Blake Bryant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gray McLean was a standout: he scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-4. Citizens Christian Academy is undefeated when McLean posts two or more runs, but 2-3-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Skyler Woods, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Citizens Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Brookwood's good fortune finally ran out last Thursday. They came up short against Tiftarea Academy, falling 9-2.
Citizens Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Brookwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
