McEachern hasn't had much luck against Kennesaw Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The McEachern Indians will challenge the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs at 5:55 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as McEachern comes in on nine and Kennesaw Mountain on three.
McEachern had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Hiram on Friday. McEachern was the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Hiram. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Joseph Allen looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Malachi Butler was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Tyce Williams was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
McEachern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hiram only posted an OBP of .214.
While Kennesaw Mountain didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Southeast Whitfield County with a sharp 13-1 win on Saturday. That looming 13-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.
Daniel Fore tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.
At the plate, Kennesaw Mountain got a big performance out of Beau Lindic, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was George Lutz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
McEachern pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kennesaw Mountain, their record is now 5-1.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McEachern has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .500. However, it's not like Kennesaw Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .483. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McEachern came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennesaw Mountain in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for McEachern since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
