After flying high against the Beaumont Cougars on Wednesday, the San Dimas Saints came back down to earth. San Dimas received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 61-45 to Ellensburg. While losing is never fun, San Dimas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 89th in California, while Ellensburg is ranked third in Washington).
San Dimas lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kamora Fletcher, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Rodriguez, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
San Dimas' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Ellensburg, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
San Dimas is on the road again on Thursday and play against Lake Washington at 9:05 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Lake Washington is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Ellensburg and Prosser will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Prosser is on a six-game streak of home wins, Ellensburg a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
