The Eastern Wayne Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Eastern Wayne's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Greene Central 11-0. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Mallory Reed made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over 4.2 innings pitched. Reed was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Lee, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Arianna Harvey, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Eastern Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greene Central only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy-Johnston can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Vance County as American Leadership Academy-Johnston made off with a 14-4 victory. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Amelia Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Makayla Cooke was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Sari Munoz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI.
Eastern Wayne's record now sits at 2-0. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their record is now 2-3.
