Everett Jou spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lynbrook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sisir Malasani, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That hit was Malasani's first of the season.
As for North Salinas, their record now sits at 2-5. They haven't had any issues with Lynbrook recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
On North Salinas' side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Josh Degroodt gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Degroodt has become a key player for North Salinas: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-4 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Markus Camacho, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Cervantes, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Lynbrook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-1 loss against Monte Vista Christian on the 16th. As for North Salinas, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Gilroy on the 17th.
