The Troy Trojans were the 62-54 winner over the Piqua Indians when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Troy fell just short of Piqua by a score of 50-47. That's two games in a row now that Troy has lost by exactly three points.
Piqua can attribute much of their success to Mickey Anderson, who scored 22 points along with six steals. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jay Hancock, who scored 13 points.
Troy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Piqua, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9.
Troy will take on Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Piqua, they will head out on the road to face off against Xenia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Xenia is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
