The Steele Canyon Cougars will be taking part in a tournament against the Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Steele Canyon lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Valhalla, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Cougars never let the Norsemen get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Saturday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Andrew Bravo made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bravo was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.
In other pitching news, Luis Santiago looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Mater Dei Catholic got a massive performance out of Nathan Sosa, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The win made it two in a row for Mater Dei Catholic and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Steele Canyon, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Steele Canyon got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2021 against Mater Dei Catholic by a conclusive 15-2 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
