On Wednesday, Clayton Valley Charter took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 66-30 victory over the Panthers. Given Clayton Valley Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Panthers are ranked 847th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clayton Valley Charter found their leader in underclassman Ella Scott, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Surney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Clayton Valley Charter pushed their record up to 17-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Benicia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.
Clayton Valley Charter will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Benicia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
