Sayre has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on String Theory at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Sayre blew Samuel Fels out of the water the last time the pair played, but on ThursdaySamuel Fels got their revenge. Sayre fell just short of Samuel Fels by a score of 36-34.
Brionn Veal-Coston put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 41.2% of Sayre's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mischa Ferguson-Bell was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and four steals.
String Theory has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The matchup between String Theory and South Philadelphia wasn't particularly close, with String Theory falling 36-19. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points String Theory has scored all season.
Sayre's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2. As for String Theory, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Sayre came up short against String Theory when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 48-37. Can Sayre avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
