Middlesex has gone 8-2 against West Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Chargers will take on the Pointers at 5:00 p.m. Middlesex is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
If Middlesex beats West Point with 16 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Chargers put the hurt on Mathews with a sharp 16-6 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Bryson Bulgin was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Middlesex is 4-1 when Bulgin posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, Middlesex got a massive performance out of Henry Fleet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Fleet has become a key player for the Chargers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-8 otherwise. Jacob Nowell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Middlesex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Point came up short against King William on Tuesday, falling 14-5. The Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
West Point saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Healy, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
West Point's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Middlesex, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Middlesex got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against West Point by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
