The McCool Junction Mustangs will head out to square off against the Heartland Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McCool Junction has given up an average of 34.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Heartland will be up against a hot McCool Junction squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Mustangs took down Mead 52-36 on Friday.

Carson McDonald had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 268 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 68 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Jaxon McDonald also helped with two scores in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: McCool Junction was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mead only rushed for 178.
Heartland never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Centennial on Friday. They managed a 42-38 win over the Broncos. The Huskies' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
McCool Junction better keep an eye on Nevada Gloystein. He was instrumental in Heartland's win, rushing for 254 yards and three touchdowns. With that strong performance, Gloystein is now averaging an impressive 123.6 rushing yards per game. Brooks Burgess was another key player, gaining 84 total yards and three touchdowns.
Heartland didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Weston Panko, Burgess, and Waylon Tessman picked up one apiece.
Heartland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for McCool Junction, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Everything came up roses for McCool Junction against Heartland in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
