North Monterey County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Barajas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Barajas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Leo Cruz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Greenfield got themselves on the board against Gonzales on Thursday, but Gonzales never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Spartans. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Frankie Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Greenfield let Danny Nava and Osvaldo Gaeta run wild. Nava scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Gaeta scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases were Nava's first of the season. Damien Martinez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
North Monterey County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Greenfield, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
