Basketball Game Preview: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Greenway Demons

The Tempe Buffaloes will take on the Greenway Demons in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Tempe is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Goldwater 76-37. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 30 points or more this season.

Nassir Cobbs was his usual excellent self, putting up 28 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Broadnax, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Tempe was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Greenway unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Estrella Foothills, falling 53-32. The matchup marked the Demons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tempe's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Greenway, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
