The Irvington Vikings will head out on the road to  take on  the Mt. Eden Monarchs  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Irvington barely beat Mission San Jose the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Irvington blew past Mission San Jose 9-1 on Friday. The  match marked the Vikings' most dominant  win of the  season so far.
 Irvington got a big performance out of  Brayden Jaksa, who  got on base  in three of his five plate appearances with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Matthew Forbes was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Mt. Eden had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Farmers as they made off with  a  7-1 victory.
 Ferooz Nangeyali Jr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Javier Alfaro III and  Braulio Lopez did most of the damage at the plate:  Alfaro III  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Lopez  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Lopez a new career-high.  Marcello Fajardo also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 The  win made it two in a row for Irvington and  bumps their season record up to 4-7. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2  run in those games. As for Mt. Eden,  the  win  got them back to even at 5-5.
 Irvington took their  victory against Mt. Eden  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023 by a conclusive  7-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Irvington since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
