The Hope Blue Wave will face off against the Woonsocket Villa Novans at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hope took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Classical, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Wave skirted past the Lady Purple/Athena 5-3.

Josh Tejada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, Woonsocket put another one in the bag on Sunday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Scituate get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Villa Novans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Braylon Guilbeault made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Guilbeault was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jullian De Jesus, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Joseph Greenless, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Woonsocket's win bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hope has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Woonsocket struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hope suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Woonsocket when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Will the Blue Wave have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
