Annenberg is 2-8 against Central City Value since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Annenberg Panthers just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Central City Value Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on January 19th. Annenberg is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
On Thursday, Annenberg didn't have too much trouble with Animo Bunche at home as they won 34-18. 34 seems to be a good number for Annenberg as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Central City Value had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Downtown Magnets as Central City Value made off with a 46-22 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Central City Value has posted against Downtown Magnets since February 5, 2020.
Central City Value relied on the efforts of Amy Lazaro, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals, and Elise Logan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Lazaro also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kimberly Jacinto, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
Annenberg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Central City Value, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Annenberg took their victory against Central City Value when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 30-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for Annenberg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
