Highland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Palmdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 3:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Highland lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lancaster, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Eagles on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Palmdale got the win against Eastside on Friday by a conclusive 9-1. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won six in a row.
Xavier Mejia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Palmdale is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-14 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on David Morales, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ivan Cisneros was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Palmdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Highland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Palmdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
Highland took their victory against Palmdale in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
