On Wednesday, Benicia had to suffer through a rough 66-30 loss at the hands of the Ugly Eagles. While losing is never fun, Benicia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 847th, while the Ugly Eagles are ranked 231st).
Ella Scott continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clayton Valley Charter, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Adrianna Surney was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Benicia dropped their record down to 5-20 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.1 points per game. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Benicia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clayton Valley Charter will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
