After flying high against the Johnson Warriors last Wednesday, the Marysville Indians came back down to earth. Marysville took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chico. Marysville lost against Chico in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-25 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Marysville lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Krystal Briggs. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Demi Boykin, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.
Marysville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Chico, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Marysville will head out on the road to face off against Edison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chico, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Vanden at 4:30 p.m.
