On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Westlake Charter at home against Vacaville Christian as the team secured a 49-16 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-8.
Lena Tahod was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with 7 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Westlake Charter's points. Anthonia Nwaukoni was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 13 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Mesa Verde lost to Fortune Early College on the road by a decisive 30-16 margin last Tuesday. Mesa Verde has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westlake Charter's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mesa Verde, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
