Softball Recap: Fremont Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Fremont had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Lincoln High Links on Saturday. That looming 10-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Raegan Rayl made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Sintek, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Megan Thomson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln High only managed three.

Fremont picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-25. As for Lincoln High, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Fremont has already played their next game, a 10-3 defeat against Lincoln Southeast on the 4th. As for Lincoln High, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-6 win against South Sioux City on the 8th.
