The Etna Lions will head out on the road to take on the Trinity Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Etna, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to Modoc. While losing is never fun, Etna can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 787th, while Modoc is ranked 330th).
Even though Trinity has not done well against Fall River recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Trinity managed a 52-46 win over Fall River. The win was just what Trinity needed coming off of a 52-15 defeat in their prior matchup.
Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Albiez out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kloe Kist, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Etna has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season. As for Trinity, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season.
Etna might still be hurting after the 54-32 loss they got from Trinity when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kist, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Now that Etna knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
