It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oakland Tech had no problem doing just that  on Friday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Skyline Titans  6-5.  Hayden Burton and  Elijah Rucker were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Burton   struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Rucker   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Burton has posted since back in March. At the plate,  Burton  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run, while  Rucker  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Gyasi Rapier was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
Oakland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Skyline,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-12.
As of now, neither Oakland Tech nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
