The Johnson Warriors had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Natomas and snuck past 33-30. For Johnson, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 defeat Natomas walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Johnson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Iris Vang out in front who scored 13 points. The game was Vang's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Johnson pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Natomas, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Johnson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Valley is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Natomas, they will be playing at home against Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Foothill is ranked 950th, while Natomas is ranked 966th).
