The Conemaugh Township Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 55-34 margin over Conemaugh Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Conemaugh Township has posted since December 14, 2023.
Conemaugh Township's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katrina Mccann, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccann has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Fetterman, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Several Blue Jays players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sarah Miller, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Miller has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Ferguson, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Conemaugh Township's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Conemaugh Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Township and Portage will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Portage is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Conemaugh Valley, they will be playing at home against United at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. United has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
