Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marietta). They put the hurt on the Carrollton Trojans with a sharp 9-3 win on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Marietta has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs over those games. Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marietta will face off against Mount Paran Christian at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. The last five games Mount Paran Christian has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Carrollton, they will challenge Hillgrove at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Carrollton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Hillgrove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
