In what's become a running theme this season, the Foothill Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Shasta 69-43. The win was just what Foothill needed coming off of a 64-35 loss in their prior matchup.
Foothill was led to victory by Riley Sedlak and Lexi Peters. Sedlak scored 15 points along with two steals, while Peters scored 24 points. That's the first time this season that Sedlak scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kalea Thomas, who scored four points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Shasta had strong showings from Joriana Gibbens-egolf, who scored 17 points, and Bria Tate, who scored ten points along with five steals. Tate is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.
Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Shasta, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.
Foothill won't have much time to rest: their next match is against West Valley at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. West Valley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Shasta, they will face off against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 54.4 so far this season, Pleasant Valley's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Shasta better be ready for a challenge.
