The Clearwater Academy International Knights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past University Christian 43-6 at home. Given Clearwater Academy International's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while University Christian is ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Antwan Raymond was his usual excellent self, rushing for 53 yards and three touchdowns. Christoper Cresser got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Clearwater Academy International now has a winning record of 5-4. As for University Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearwater Academy International will face off against Venice at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Venice knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Clearwater Academy International likes a good challenge. As for University Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Kenny at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Kenny will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
