The Hanover Central Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Calumet New Tech, posting a 48-16 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Hanover Central, who have now won eight matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
Hanover Central was led to victory by Matt Koontz and Caiden Verrett. Koontz threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, while Verrett rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Calumet New Tech's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Javon Lawerence, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hanover Central's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. As for Calumet New Tech, they have fallen quite a ways from their 9-2 record last season and are now at 2-8.
Hanover Central will be playing at home against Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boone Grove is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. Calumet New Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
