The Colfax Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against Rocklin as Colfax made off with a 65-43 win. Given Colfax's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Rocklin is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colfax was led to victory by Madalyn Sigrist and Juliette James. Sigrist scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while James dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sigrist has scored at least 25% of Colfax's points. Another player making a difference was Maya Smiley, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Rocklin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bianca Slone, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. Ayla Kasten was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rocklin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Colfax is on the road again on Thursday and play against Parlier at 8:00 p.m. on December 7th. As for Rocklin, they will challenge Davis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
