North is on an eight-game streak of home losses, and West an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The North Stars will host the West Vikings at 4:00 p.m.
North fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5.
ALEJANDRO GALINDO was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, West had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against East Bakersfield by a score of 10-6 on Thursday.
Elliot Major spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ethan Estrada, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Adrian Camacho was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
North couldn't quite finish off West when the teams last played back in March and fell 12-10. Will the Stars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
